Setting up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on your ProtonMail account is the best way to prevent unauthorized access to your account. Email breaches are all too common and passwords alone aren’t able to keep you protected from savvy hackers. With 2FA in place, you’ll have an extra layer of security so that you have greater control over access to your communication platform. Follow these 9 easy steps:
Step 1: Log in to your Porton Mail account on your desktop. Click “Settings”
Step 2: Click on “Go to settings”
Step 3: Click on “Account and password”
Step 4: Click on “Two-factor authentication”
Step 5: Click on “Next”
Step 6: A QR code will open up on the screen
Step 7: Download the Google Authenticator app via the App Store on iOS or the Google Play store on Android
Step 8: On the Google Authenticator app on your smartphone, press “Scan a QR code”
Step 9: Enter your password
Step 10: Your app will generate a password, and enter it onto your desktop
